Pick up a Claude Code conversation

A Claude Code session you started in a terminal, or in the Claude desktop app’s Code tab, can be opened in Arugula and carried on from there, from any device.

  1. Find it. Choose Open beside › Claude Code conversations… in a pane’s menu, or + Pane › Claude Code conversation (Conversations in the phone’s sheet). The list is grouped by folder, newest first; type to search. With more than one machine, each machine’s are under its name. From a terminal:

    Terminal window
arugula claude ls --live # the ones running now
arugula claude ls flaky test # by words in them
  2. Open it. It opens as a stopped agent block with the whole transcript. Nothing runs, and the block keeps reading the transcript as it grows, so you can follow a terminal session from your phone (arugula claude open ID does the same).

  3. Carry it on. Choose Continue, or just send a message. The session resumes in the block with your settings, skills and CLAUDE.md, and the model it last used. claude --resume in a terminal afterwards shows the new turns.

  4. If it’s still open somewhere else, it can’t be continued: two writers would each lose the other’s turns. Choose Fork to go on in a new session with the same history (arugula agent --fork ID).

The list leaves out claude -p and SDK runs, sessions archived in the desktop app and ones whose folder is gone; All shows everything. The Claude desktop app’s chats live on claude.ai and aren’t here.
